Scenes from the golf course

View from Johnson’s house. This picture does not do justice to the scene. The dark blue is actually the ocean between the sky and the land. Block Island is easily visible, but the picture didn’t pick it up.
After breakfast with Joan and Arnie we left about 9:00AM for our 15th day of golf at Touisset Country Club in Swansea, Massachusetts. Swansea is about an hour from here via I95 north to Providence and then a few miles east on I195 to Swansea.

We were able to tee off after a 15-minute wait, and we were fortunate to be paired up with a young couple, Paulette Kim and Eddie Lee from New York City (see picture). They are in Massachusetts for a wedding later today, and were enjoying the early part of the day on the golf course. Paulette and Eddie played only the front nine as they had to leave for the wedding.

Touisset is a nine-hole course, so we replayed the 9-holes to complete our 18 holes, and of course we each improved our scores because of the knowledge gained from our first time around. The course does not have watered fairways and we both were able to get extra distance to our drives because of the dry conditions. The greens were well watered and excellent. Jim shot 87 (yardage =6048) and Pat shot 107 (yardage =5450). We will not be sending the course ratings and slopes with each daily journal as these can be seen in the complete score record as displayed in “Golfer Centric”. Go to the bottom of the home page and then click on either Pat or Jim for the complete score record.

We would like to thank the golf professional and his staff for their hospitality and courtesy during our stay at Touisset. We both enjoyed the day and our round of golf.
