Today we had a 2½ hour drive from the Comfort Inn in Bathurst, NB to Bouctouche Golf Course for our 11:00AM tee time. The weather was clear and quite warm, but a stiff breeze kept it cool enough; however, the crosswinds played havoc with some of our shots. The course was rather dry but the greens were very good. Today, being Sunday, was very busy at the golf course and our 18-hole round took us five hours. Today’s scores: Jim shot 91 (CR = 69.0, Slope = 113 and yardage 6182) and Pat shot 112 (CR = 68.0, Slope = 114, yardage 5301).
After golf we headed to Summerside, Prince Edward Island and arrived at our Econo Lodge motel about 7:00PM (Summerside, PEI is 829 miles from New York City). We were pleasantly surprised that much of the drive was on a limited access road, which is much easier than going through small town after small town. We stopped to take a few pictures of the Confederation Bridge (the 10-mile bridge from New Brunswick to PEI) before driving across it. The bridge toll is $37.00 Canadian one way. There is no toll coming into PEI---just leaving.
To this point we have driven 2165 miles and flown about 10,000 miles.
We would like to thank the golf shop personnel at Bouctouche Golf Course for their courtesy during our visit to their course.
